GETTING STARTED
In this section described are the required steps for basic operation, in order to
operate the LIZI robot using its onboard computer.
2.1 First Use
To launch the robot, do the following:
•
Upon unpacking the LIZI, the battery needs to be connected. To do
so, open the battery cover on the bottom of the robot by unscrewing
6 screws, using the no.3 Allen key.

Press the main switch (1), to transfer power for all the system.
•
Press the PC button (2) briefly and release, wait for 3 to 5 seconds for
the robot to turn on. Next the LIZI will perform tests for all its
systems. The LIZI
may slightly move
forward/ backward as part of the
testing process of the motors and encoders.

During powering up the PC button (2) will flash in blue. If an
error accrued and the power up process was not successful
the LIZI PC button (2) will flash in red.
•
Connect the robot to the HDMI (4) and USB (5) ports, by using the
back-panel ports and open a terminal window by pressing C
Alt + T, then execute the following in the command line:
roslaunch lizi lizi.launch
