5.1.2 Attachin g Pump Scroll
After determining the correct orientation of the p u mp
scroll o u tlet, attach the p u mp scroll to the p u mp
frame as follo w s:
• In Box 1 of 2, locate the EP-300 Scroll/Inlet fas-
tener package containing hex n u ts and w ashers.
• Place scroll assembly o v er impeller and align M8
scre w st u ds on the scroll assembly w ith the holes
on the frame. Place the scroll assembly onto the
p
u mp frame. Be caref u l not to damage gasket.
• From the motor side of the v ertical mo u nting plate
of the frame, place an M8 w asher onto the M8
scre w st u d. Then thread the M8 hexn u t onto the
M8 scre w st u d, finger tighten. Repeat for all 12
scre w st u ds.

NOTE: While tightening the n u ts (torq u e to 132
in/lb) that sec u re the p u mp scroll to the p u mp
frame, periodically spin the impeller to be s u re
that adeq u ate clearance is maintained bet w een
the impeller blades and the body of the p u mp
scroll.
5.1.3 Attachin g Pump Inlet Assembly
From scroll assembly side of p u mp, orient inlet
assembly so threaded pipe co u pling is on top. See
partial end v ie w on Page 12, Figure 4 .
• Place inlet assembly onto scroll assembly by fit-
ting inlet assembly onto M8 scre w st u ds on scroll
assembly. Be caref u l not to damage gasket.
• Place M8 w ashers onto M8 scre w st u d. Thread
M8 hex n u ts onto M8 scre w st u ds, finger tighten.
Repeat for all 12 scre w st u ds. See Page 12, Fig-
ure 4 .
• Go back and tighten all 24 M8 hex n u ts (torq u e to
132 in/lb) w ith a w rench to completely sec u re
p u mp scroll assembly to p u mp frame and p u mp
inlet assembly to p u mp scroll assembly.
