4.1 Intended use
The linear unit must be used exclusively for a linear process and positioning of work pieces, units,
measuring devices or for other comparable setting tasks in industrial plants.
The linear unit should not be used in areas where there is a risk of explosion or in direct contact
with foodstuffs, pharmaceutical or cosmetic products.
Catalogue information, the contents of these assembly instructions and conditions laid down in
the order are to be taken into account.
The load information given in these assembly instructions shows maximum values which must not
be exceeded.
4.2 Improper use
"Improper use" shall be assumed when the information quoted in the section
4.1 Intended use
is not observed.
In the event of improper use, incorrect operation and if this linear unit is used, installed or hand-
led by untrained personnel, this linear unit may pose risks for the personnel.
If the linear unit is used improperly, then RK Rose+Krieger GmbH ceases to be liable and the ge-
neral operating licence of this linear unit will be void.
4.2.1 Reasonably foreseeable misuse

Use in an environment where these is a risk of explosion (if used in atmospheres with an ex-
plosion risk, sparks can lead to deflagrations, fire or explosions)

Use of the linear unit with permitted forces / torques exceeded

Inadequate securing of the linear unit

Inadequate securing of the loads to be moved

Loads exceeding the specified limits
•
Use in the food processing industry with direct contact with unpacked foods

Use outdoors

Use in an environment with high air humidity > dew point
•
Use in a heavily contaminated environment
•
Use in extremely dusty atmospheres
•
Use in an atmosphere containing solvents
•
Moving of animals or persons
•
Use in liquids
4.3 Who may use, install and operate this linear unit
Persons who have read and understood the assembly instructions completely may use, install and
operate this linear unit. The responsibilities for handling this linear unit must be clearly laid down
and observed.
