Proper Care & Maintenance
l
To protect your grill from excessive rust, the unit must be properly cleaned and covered at all times when not in
use.
l
Wash cooking grates and basting pans with hot, soapy water, rinse well and dry.
l
Clean inside and outside of grill by wiping off with a damp cloth.
l
If rust appears on the exterior surface of your grill, clean and buff the affected area with steel wool or fine grit
emery cloth. Touch-up with a good quality high-temperature resistant paint.
l
Never apply paint to the interior surface, such as ash pan or charcoal grates. Rust spots on the interior surface
can be buffed, cleaned, and then lightly coated with vegetable oil or vegetable oil spray to minimize rusting.
l
Check following components every month
1.
Chain
. Make sure the screws holding the chain to the rotational shaft and cooking grate support are firmly
seated by tightening them with your screw driver.
2.
Flywheel
. Make sure the set bolt anchoring the wheel to rotational shaft holds it tightly in place for turning.
3.
Lubrication
. Put household oil on the suspension shaft where it passes through both sides of the frame or
enclosure. Place another drop on the pivot point of the ratchet
– lock that holds it at height.
4.
Cleaning
. Lower the surface close to the fire at the end of cooking and scrape away the charred residue
with the long handle spatula. Clean with hot soapy water, rinse well and dry.
