RITE-HITE VBR-400 DOK-LOK
Owner’s Manual
GENERAL INSTALLATION INFORMATION
The performance of any machine can be no better than
the installation. The DOK-LOK requires only normal
application and installation skills.
DOK-LOKs may be installed at dock locations equipped
with RITE-HITE or other levelers. These can either be in
recessed pits or mounted on the top edge of the dock. A
DOK-LOK can be installed on docks without any leveler.
DOK-LOK Power Source
On occasion, the incoming electrical power for the
VBR-400 DOK-LOK vehicle restraint is taken from a
convenient nearby electrical power source, such as an
overhead door opener or shelter blower. Generally there
is no problem following this procedure, however, make
sure that the power to the DOK-LOK control box is
120 VAC, single phase 60 Hz with 2 amp current
available.
If any questions or problems arise, contact your
RITE-HITE representative or RITE-HITE at
(800) 456-0600.
DOK-LOK Mounting Plate
On new or remodeled pit construction, using the com-
bined front pit curb angle and DOK-LOK mounting plate
makes good sense. The 23-1/2" x 20" plate is welded to
the angle. Both have concrete anchors. Contractors find
it a convenient method of forming the front dock face
and installers prefer to weld to the DOK-LOK roller track
as opposed to drilling and setting concrete anchors.
Whether there is a leveler or not, a 4" thick
bumper is required. DO NOT install a
DOK-LOK
vehicle restraint on docks without 4" thick
bumpers. For thicker bumpers consult factory.
