Refer to Section 690-8 of the National Electric Code for an additional multiplying factor of 1.25 which may be
applicable.
CNL model instruction manuals shall also include a statement that installation shall be in accordance with CSA C22.1,
Safety Standard for Electrical Installations, Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1.
Details for wiring in accordance with the NEC, and that the grounding method of the frame of arrays shall comply with
the NEC, article 250.
Grounding
There is a grounding label and two holes on the module. Please refer the figure 1 for size and earth. Earth grounding
conductor should be in accordance with local requirements or the IEC. Note stainless steel washers are used between the
ground wire and the module frame (see picture 2). The size of grounding hole is 4mm. The screw is 5.0mm.All washers
are with inter diameter of 5.3mm. This washers are used to avoid corrosion due to dissimilar metals. Tighten the screw
with the minimum torque of screw between 0.5~1N.m. We recommend you connect all module frames to an earth ground.
Connect a separate ground wire to one of the extra mounting holes with a self-tapping screw. The racks must also be
grounded unless they are mechanically connected by nuts and bolts to the grounded. Grounding is achieved by securing
the array frame for both roof and field mounted applications. Please noted all washers and nut are stainless steel.
