2. If the user shipped the machhine to the warehouse with a VIU installed,
remove it and replace it with the warehouse’s VIU. The jumper and switch
settings of the warehouse VIU must be as follows.
•
Switch 1 of DIP switch 2 must be OFF. (DIP switch 2 is the one with
only one switch.)
•
Jumper pins TB1-4 must be as follows.
When using a cross cable: Short TB2 and TB4
When using a straight cable: Short TB1 and TB3
•
The jumpers must be removed from TB5 and TB8, and jumpers TB6
and TB7 must be shorted.
3. Install the VIU in the scanner. (Refer to the operation manual for the VIU.)
4. Connect the scanner to the PC with the RS-232C cable.
5. Switch on the PC and start Windows.
6. Run the "Terminal" program in the Windows accessories.
7. Select Communications in the Settings menu
8. Set up each item as follows.
•
Baud Rate: 9,600
•
Data Bits: 8
•
Stop Bits: 1
•
Parity: None
•
Flow Control: None
9. Switch on the scanner. The scanner initialization messages appear.
