F.1 Fitting the safety glass (Fig. 3)
Fit the safety glass (i) as shown in Figure 3. The safety glass (i) must be
pulled down at all times during operation to protect your eyes from
injury from pieces of carbide metal and sparks being flung out of the
equipment.
F.2 Fitting the handle (Fig. 4)
Fit the handle (7) as shown in Figure 4.
F.3 Fastening
Bolt the machine securely to the surface using the holes in the base plate
(a)
Inserting saw blades
•
Move the motor (g) to its rear position using the handle (e) and
set the tilt angle to 0°.
•
For small diameters slide the motor (e) on the base plate (a) to
the rear by undoing the four Allen screws on the motor holder.
When the motor (e) is in the required position, tighten the Allen
screws again. For medium sized saw blade diameters the motor
(e) should be positioned in around the centre, for large diameter
saw blades it should be right at the front of the base plate (a)
(Fig. 6)
•
Undo the looking screw (c) on the mounting arm (b) using the
pin (1).
•
Undo the star handle nut (n), washer, spring and clamping
flange from the mounting arm (b) and secure the saw blade to
the mounting arm (b) using these parts. The cutting angles of the
saw blade must point to the right at the grinding point.
•
Align the saw blade so that the cutting angle of the teeth is
parallel to the grinding wheel (l) and the distance between the
two is approx. 15 mm. Secure the saw blade in this position by
tightening the locking screw (c) using the pin (1).
•
Set up the saw blade support (m) using the Allen screw and the
screw connection on the under side of the saw blade support
(m) so that the saw blade is at a 90° angle to the grinding wheel
(l) and rests on the saw blade support (m). The saw blade
support (m) should be positioned as close as possible to the
grinding point.
•
Now move the grinding wheel (l) using the handle (g) between
the teeth of the saw blade so that when the saw blade is turned
clockwise against the grinding wheel (l) the whole surface area
of the hard metal plate on the saw blade lies flat on the grinding
wheel (l).
