Half a turn will move the counter knife B (in Fig.4) 0.50mm closer to the chopping knife A (in
Fig.4).
After adjusting, make some cutting tests to check if best effect is achieved
Ensure that the chopping knife is in contact with the counter knife, especially when shredding soft
materials or wet, woody branches.
When you use strong and dry materials the counter knife should have a corresponding distance to
the chopping knife to avoid any damage to the shredder.
CAUTION:
If the knife touches the counter-knife, it may chip it down and small metal chips
may fall from the discharge port. This is not a failure, however it is recommended to adjust the
counter-knife distance as deemed necessary so as not to wear it out.
5.3.4- When you have finished your work
- Switch off the shredder and unplug it from mains power source.
Caution! The chopping blade continues to rotate after the machine is switched off. Wait until blade
comes to a complete stop before leaving the machine and before proceeding to any intervention on
the machine.
- Clean and store the shredder.
- We recommend you follow the below tips.
5.4- Tips
1- Heavy material or branches result in blocking of the chopping knife when being shredded
continuously.
2- Always feed the material to be chopped from the right corner of the feeding funnel.
3- Carefully check the material to be chopped. Make sure there is no contact with stones or nails as
these could seriously damage the shredder.
4- Check for signs of vibration. Heavy vibration is caused by damaged or worn-out knives. Change
the knives, if necessary.
VI. MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Before any intervention on the product, make sure that the shredder is switched off
and unplugged from the mains power source.
6.1- Maintenance and Cleaning
Take care of your machine and clean it regularly to obtain long-lasting efficiency and performance.
a) Have your tool serviced by a qualified person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of your tool is maintained.
b) Have your tool repaired by a qualified person
Unless otherwise indicated in this instruction manual, repairs or replacement of any damaged part
in an authorised service centre is recommended.
c) Maintain tool with care.
Keep tool clean for better and safer performance.
d) When the machine is stopped for servicing, inspection, or storage, or to change any accessories,
shut off the motor, unplug the connection cable (to disconnect the electric unit from the mains
power supply), make sure that all moving parts have come to complete stop. Allow the machine to
cool down before making any inspections, adjustments, etc.
e) When servicing the chopping knife assembly be aware that, even though the motor will not start
due to the interlock feature of the guard, the chopping knife assembly can still be moved by a
manual starting mechanism. Wear protective gloves to avoid any hazard.
6.2- Cleansing
a) Clean the plastic parts with a soft cloth and clean.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents (solvents, abrasive cleansers) or an abrasive sponge or any
sharp objects.
- Do not use any caustic chemicals to clean the plastics parts.
