Problem Solution
The KM1
Communication module
is not found by the
DeviceDiscoveryTool. In order to check the automatic IP address retrieval,
proceed as follows:
Î
Click the Start symbol on the task bar.
Î In the Settings menu, select the Control panel.
Î Double-click Network connections.
Î Right-click the KM1 Communication module con-
nection.
Î Click Properties.
Î Mark TCP/IP Internet protocol.
Î Click the Properties button.
Î Mark the Obtain IP address automatically
field.
Î Mark the Obtain DNS server address auto-
matically field.
Î Close all windows by clicking OK.
Î Check if the proxy server settings for the opera-
ting system are correct.
The KM1

operating system are correct, proceed as follows:
Î
Click the Start symbol on the task bar.
Î In the Settings menu, select the Control panel.
Î
Double-click the Internet Options symbol.
Î Click the Connections tab.
Î Click the Settings button.
Î Tick the Use a proxy server for your LAN
checkbox.
Î Click the Advanced… button.
Î
Enter 169.254.0.0/16 into the Exceptions input
field.
Î
Close all windows by clicking OK.
Î Check if the proxy server settings for the Internet
browser are correct.
Problem Solution
The KM1

internet browser are correct, proceed as follows:
Î Open the Internet browser.
Î In the main menu Extras, select the sub-menu
Settings.
Î In the main menu Advanced, select the sub-menu
Network.
Î Click the Settings button.
Î Enter 169.254.0.0/16in the No proxy for: field.
Î Close all windows by clicking OK.
