7 • Maintenance
The system requires little maintenance, but to assure years of pleasure from your system, we
advise the following:
• If the screen fabric becomes wet by means of a surprise shower, you can safely roll it up and
wait until there is better weather to unroll it and dry it out. To prevent mould growth and stains,
avoid leaving the screen fabric rolled up for more than three days.
• Remove loose dirt with a brush or vacuum cleaner before cleaning. Then, you can remove re-
maining dirt using a cleaning product (avoid caustic products). Rinse the fabric after cleaning.
Avoid cleaning in full sunlight – when water with cleaning products dries too fast, it can leave
stains. Do not use aggressive abrasive products.
• Dirty anodized or powder-coated profiles can be cleaned with lukewarm water containing a
non-aggressive cleaning product. Never use any caustic or aggressive products, pan scrubbers
or other abrasive products.
We also advise not to use a pressure washer.
• Hinged or rotating parts should be lubricated on a yearly basis, including the interim pulley
and stainless steel shaft and the interim alignment wheel and stainless steel shaft. Use a dry
lubricant for this (Veidec Dry Lube – G6002790).
• After cleaning (remove twigs and leaves), lubricate the plastic sliding bushes with a dry lubri-
cant (Veidec Dry Lube – G6002790).
• Check your product regularly for twigs, leaves, bird nests, etc. and remove them.
Maintain this product with due diligence.
• As the product manufacturer, we advise you to let the installer check it regularly: once per year
for both commercial buildings and domestic blinds.
• Always use original spare parts from the manufacturer.
Important things to know
• The power supply should be provided by a recognised electrician and according to the cur-
rently applicable standards.
• In view of the production process, there might be slight colour variation between colour
samples and the actual profiles/fabric rollers. There can be slight colour variation between
components and profiles.
• The fabric might show tiny colour variations and imperfections.
• Screen fabrics consist of fibres that are regularly rolled up and can lead to ruffling, herring-
bone effect or folds.
• The fabric colour can slightly discolour through the course of time, depending on the chosen
colours and designs.
• With flat hanging screens, where the fabric drops vertically through the weight of the bottom
rail or by means of a tensioning system, the fabric may form wave-like creases, depending on
the type of screen.
• You may hear a “crackling” sound during movement. This sound is a characteristic of the
system.
