9. Operation
a) Switching on and off
• Slide the on/off switch (2) to the "ON" position to switch on the metal detector. The LED indicator (4) will turn on.
• Slide the on/off switch (2) to the "OFF" position to switch off the metal detector.
b) Adjusting the sensitivity
If metal detector emits a constant beep when switched on and there are no nearby metal objects or sources of
interference, the sensitivity is too high and must be readjusted.
Proceed as follows to adjust the sensitivity:
• Slide the on/off switch (2) to the "ON" position to switch on the metal detector. The LED indicator (4) will turn on
you will hear a continuous beep.
• For best results, place the device on a table that does not contain electrically conductive materials. Ensure that
the detection probe (10) is kept away from all metal parts or other conductors (e.g. electrolytes). You can also hold
the detection probe (10) at least 30 cm above the ground. Keep it away from overground sources of interference
(e.g. fluorescent tubes).
• Slowly turn the sensitivity adjustment screw (3) anticlockwise with a small screwdriver until you can no longer hear
the beep sound. Turn the screw clockwise slightly until you can hear the beep sound again. Readjust the screw until
the beep sound is just on the borderline of audibility. The metal detector is now ready for use.
Readjust the screw if the metal detector beeps when there are no conductive objects next to the detection
probe (10).
• You should also adjust the sensitivity when you wish to change the detection range. The metal detector will then
respond at a shorter or longer range. Place the detection probe (10) at the desired distance from a metal object and
adjust the position of the screw until the metal detector beeps and the indicator turns on.
c) LED indicator and audio signals
• If the metal detector beeps when you switch it on, adjust the sensitivity accordingly (see section b) "Adjusting the
sensitivity").
• When a metal object is found, the metal detector will beep and the red location indicator (5) will turn on. When the
detection probe (10) moves away from the detected object, the LED will turn off and the metal detector will stop
beeping. This enables you to accurately determine the location of the object.
LED location indicator (5)
When a metal/conductive object is detected, the LED location indicator will turn on
and the metal detector will start to beep.
LED indicator (4)
This LED indicator indicates that the metal detector is ready to use. It switches off
when the device is not ready for use.
