b) Adjusting the pole length
The length of the pole can be adjusted to suit your height. Adjust the length so that you
can move the detection probe (10) over the ground at a height of approximately 3-5 cm
without having to bend over. When searching for metal objects, ensure that you stand
straight with a balanced body posture (see left-hand diagram).
Follow the steps below to adjust the length of the pole:
• Loosen the connection sleeve (7) by turning it clockwise.
• Pull the lower telescopic pole (8) outwards to the desired position. The bottom of
the metal detector should be parallel to the ground when you are searching for
metal objects.
• Turn the connection sleeve (7) anticlockwise to secure the pole in place at the
desired length.
•
Test the length setting. If necessary, readjust the length until you find a comfortable position.
Try not to completely unscrew the thread when adjusting the length. Do not twist or pull on the interior
cable.
• Loosen the knurled nuts on the swivel joint (9).
• Adjust the horizontal position of the detection probe (10) so that it will always be parallel to the ground, and then
tighten the knurled nuts slightly with your hand. The detection probe (10) should still be flexible, but must not slip
out of position after several search attempts.
• After adjusting the position, tighten the knurled nuts on the swivel joint (9) so that the position of the detection
probe (10) will not change when you are searching for metal objects.
