•
The mains socket into which the power adapter is plugged must be easily accessible.
• Do not pull the AC adapter from the power outlet by pulling on the cable.
• If the wall plug transformer is damaged, do not use the product any longer.
Switch off the mains socket to which the wall plug transformer is connected (switch
off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse, then switch off
the earth leakage circuit breaker). Unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains
socket.
Replace the defective wall plug transformer only with a wall plug transformer of
the same design (with the same output voltage, output current, round plug and plug
polarity).
• If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device must be
turned off and precautions must be taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally.
Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (where there is flickering light,
leaking smoke or a smell of burning, audible crackling noises, or discolouration of
the product or to adjacent surfaces)
-
the product was stored for a longer period of time in unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• For safety reasons, unplug the wall plug transformer from the mains socket before
cleaning the product or when the product is not to be used for a while (e.g., during
storage).
Instructions concerning the battery
• Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by
children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use suitable
protective gloves.
• Liquids leaking from batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming into
contact with these liquids might be considerably damaged. Therefore, store batteries in a suit
-
able location.
• Batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire. There is a risk of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; there is a risk of explosion!
• Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the battery.
Mounting and start-up
a) Mounting the control unit
Before you start the installation, keep in mind that the IR receiver of the control unit
must be placed so that a flawless reception of the control signals from the IR remote
control is possible.
A direct optical contact between the IR LED of the IR remote control and the IR receiver
is beneficial, however it is not a prerequisite. The IR light (invisible to the human eye) of
the IR remote control is reflected by many surfaces.
Before you proceed to the permanent mounting of the control unit and the IR receiver,
check that they function properly.
• The control unit can be screwed tight via two eyes located on the sides of the housing. Depend
-
ing on the mounting site, you can also fasten the control unit using cable ties or a double-sided
adhesive tape.
When you screw the control unit into place, make sure that no cable or pipes are dam
-
aged when drilling and tightening the screws.
• Fasten the IR receiver of the control unit to a suitable place, e.g. by using a strip of adhesive tape
or a cable tie.
b) Installing the LED strip
• The LED strip can be mounted on suitable surfaces, such as furniture or similar objects, using
the adhesive tape located on the underside.
The LED strip must be mounted in such a way that it is not exposed to mechanical
stress. It may not be mounted in such a way that someone can step on it; that will dam
-
age it.
• Carefully clean the surface onto which you want to mount the LED strip from dust, dirt and
grease before mounting; otherwise the adhesive tape will come off the surface.
• Remove part of the protective strip and stick the LED strip onto the mounting surface one section
at a time. However, do not use force when pressing down.
The LED strip can be cut at the marked points. The connectors provided can be used
to restore the electrical connection between the individual LED strip sections.
c) Connecting the LED strip to the control unit
• The diagram below demonstrates how to connect the LED strip to the control unit.

• The plug connection can be protected from unintentional disconnection by using a strip of ad
-
hesive tape.
d) Connecting the wall plug transformer
• Connect the round low voltage plug of the wall plug transformer to the corresponding round
socket on the control unit.
• Connect the wall plug transformer to a proper mains socket of the public supply network.
