5.8 Printing an object

To print a 3D object, SIMPLEX requires toolpath information that is generated from 3D object CAD files
such as �obj or �stl� Toolpath information is known as a "G-code"�
Sample G-codes are stored on the USB flash drive provided. You can use these to immediately
carry out test prints.
Make sure to use the G-code for the currently loaded filament. Using an incorrect G-code can
cause misprints or damage to the printer.
The following G-codes are available:
G-Code SIMPLEX study model, working model, multi-use model ==> Filament TEMP1
G-Code SIMPLEX aligner model ==> Filament TEMP2
5.8.1 Loading an object from a USB flash drive

Switch off the SIMPLEX unit (13).
⇒
Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port (11) on the SIMPLEX unit.
⇒ Switch on the SIMPLEX unit (13).
⇒
Select the USB menu�
⇒ Use the arrows / to select the file name of the object.
Using the right arrow and the "up directory" icon, you can navigate
through the directory structure of the USB flash drive.
⇒ Press the printer icon to start printing�
♦ The unit warms the extruder and the print bed to the temperatures stored in
the G-code�
♦ As long as the temperatures have not yet been reached, the two letters "H"
and "B" are shown in red on the display�
H: Head = Print head
B: Bed
= Print bed
♦ As soon as the stored temperatures are reached with sufficient accuracy, the
color of the letters changes to white, and printing begins�
During printing, the following information is shown on the display:
• Name of the file to be printed
• Head (H) and bed (B) temperature
• Z-position information
• Printing speed
• Filament: remaining / total
• Progress bar with information in % as well as elapsed time / total time required.
