Branch lines between joists must be protected with a minimum 6” (150 mm) thickness of noncombus-
tible insulation (e.g., fiberglass) either within the joist bay or on top of the joists. A maximum of 3’-0” (900
mm) of an angled sprig may extend above the insulation to supply Model GP56 sprinklers.
