EMERGENCY CALL

An Emergency Call is initiated from the user by pressing a routing
code of
‘

followed by the
‘

’
key. Upon receipt of a valid channel
request from the mobile unit, the Repeater Trunking Controller will go
off-hook and automatically dial the emergency telephone number
programmed in the Repeater Trunking Controller. The
preprogrammed telephone number in the Repeater Trunking
Controller is often programmed to call the police or other governmental
agency. After the telephone number has been automatically dialed,
the call will proceed in the same manner as a mobile to landline call.
If a channel request for an emergency call is denied to a user or is not
available for a call, the transceiver will automatically initiate a
‘
Priority
Call Override
’
sequence if so programmed by the system operator, or
dealer. An emergency call that is engaged in a priority override
request is the highest priority level possible, and will terminate a call
even on a priority level

CALL TERMINATION

Call termination can result from a number of different conditions. A
mobile unit may terminate a call by the transmission of a disconnect
code. A disconnect code is initiated from a mobile unit by pressing
the
‘
# key without pressing the PTT. Upon receipt of the
disconnect packet transmission from the mobile unit, a disconnect
code will be transmitted to all users engaged on the channel by the
Repeater Trunking controller. Call termination will also occur if the
mobile unit exceeds the call limit time, or if the mobile activity timer
expires at the Repeater Trunking Controller. In addition, if a mobile
unit looses the signal from the Repeater Trunking Controller, the
mobile unit will automatically return to the idle state after 5 seconds if a
disconnect signal is not received from the Repeater Trunking
Controller.
