The Humidistat Option 

 

Installation 
 

-

  Most manufacturers will require the removal of a jumper pin, wire connection 

or a dip switch setting change on their control board to allow the use of a 
humidistat. This is OEM specific. 

 

-

  In this application, a high humidity signal from the humidistat will command 

the ECM to operate at a lower airflow than the cooling selection (typically a 
15% reduction). Airflow will return to normal when the set humidity level is 
satisfied.  

 

Benefits 
 

-

  Lower airflow across the cooling coil will remove more moisture by allowing it 

to condense on the coil and drain.  

 

-

  Lower humidity allows the cooling set point to be higher and still be 

comfortable. Setting the thermostat as little as two degrees higher can save 
money. 

 

-

  The cooling call will follow whatever profile has been selected; however the
