8. Operation
The numbers used in these instructions refer to the illustration alongside the text or the illustrations within
the respective section. For this reason, the same number can represent different locations and different
operating elements in different figures. Cross-references to other figures are given in the text with the cor
-
responding figure number.
a) Inserting batteries into the transmitter, changing batteries
Open the battery compartment cover on the underside of the transmitter and slide it out to the side. Then insert 4
AA/Mignon batteries with the correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-). Replace the battery compartment cover.
You can also use rechargeable batteries. However, the running time is much shorter due to the lower output
voltage of rechargeable batteries. We therefore recommend that you only use batteries and not recharge
-
able batteries for the transmitter for reasons of operational safety and running time. It is also recommended
that you always have 4 spare batteries at hand when operating the model boat.
The red power LED (18) flashes when the batteries are weak or empty. In this case, stop using the model boat/trans
-
mitter immediately and replace the depleted batteries with new ones.
b) Mounting the retaining lug
If desired, you can attach the included retaining lug (2) to
the rear (1) of the transmitter with 3 screws (3).
You can then attach a shoulder strap (not included) to the
lug.
c) Recharging the drive battery
Insert the drive battery round plug into the charging socket
(1) of the USB charger. Then connect the USB plug (2) of
the charging cable to a USB socket of a matching USB
power adapter.
Important:
The output current of the USB socket must be
at least 2 A. Observe the inscriptions or the op
-
erating instructions for the USB adapter used.
USB ports of personal computers/laptops are
not suitable and can be damaged!
The red power LED (3) on the USB charger lights up. The
charge control LED (4) flashes during the charging process.
When the charging process is complete, the charge control LED glows steadily. Then disconnect the drive battery from
the USB charger and the USB plug from the USB power adapter.
Important!
Only use the included USB charger to charge the drive battery. Never attempt to charge the rechargeable
battery with a different/incompatible charger! Do not leave the drive battery unattended while it is charging.
