• If the engine smokes strongly during transition from idle speed to full throttle and sounds very rough, then the mix is
too rich.
• Make the mix thinner by screwing in the screw by 1/16 rotations clockwise while the engine is switched off.
• Restart the engine and repeat the procedure until the speed transition from idle speed to full throttle is soft and
spontaneous. A short delay in reaction is normal.
• Drive the model as usual in order to get a feeling of how the engine reacts to load changes.
• Modify the settings until the performance meets your expectations.
When you have made this setting, readjustment of the throttle stop and mix adjustment screw/main jet
needle may be required.
The idle mix adjustment screw is set correctly when the engine is running at an even speed at the stationary
vehicle.
If the speed is increased (and the motor even stops afterwards), the idle mix adjustment screw is set too
lean.
If the motor speed slowly decreases (and the motor possibly stops), the idle mix adjustment screw is set too
rich.
Adjusting the throttle stop screw (idle adjustment screw)
The idle speed adjusting screw regulates the idle speed via the position of the carburettor slide (the throttle stop). The
following applies: The higher the carburettor throughput, the higher the revolution speed.
• Turning the adjusting screw clockwise increases the throughput.
• Turning anti-clockwise permits the slider to retract further and thus reduces the passage.
As with the other settings, the adjusting screw must only be turned in 1/16 turns. Remember the settings so that you
can recover the previous (and poss. better) setting.
