Fitting and removing blade guard
WARNING.
It is forbidden to use the power tool without properly fixed blade guard.
Risk of serious injury!
To fit the blade guard follow the below instructions::
•
Slide the blade guard on the power tool body so that the projection of the guard slides
into the notch of the power tool.
•
Secure the guard with the included screw.
Safety features
•
The fixed blade teeth have extended points with rounded ends to reduce the chance of
injury in case of accidental contact.
•
The fixed blade is longer than the moving blade to guard against kickback when
inadvertently making contact with wall or fence.
•
The safety switch (3) and ON/OFF switch (6) must be operated together to start the
motor. This ensures that both hands are used to control the hedge trimmer.
•
If pressure on one of the two switches is released, the power tool stops rapidly.
Holding the hedge trimmer
To ensure safe operation and reduce the risk of personal injury it is necessary to hold the
power tool properly: hold the front handle with one hand, hold the grip with another hand.
Always hold the power tool as described above.
Switching the power tool on and off
•
First press the safety switch (3), then press the ON/OFF switch (6)- the power tool
switches on. Continue to squeeze both switches to keep the power tool running.
•
Releasing one of the switches stops the power tool.
Tips for trimming
•
Apart from hedges the hedge trimmer may also be used for trimming bushes.
•
The opposite rotating teeth cut on both sides and it is therefore possible to trim the
hedge in both directions.
•
A hedge should be wider at the bottom than the top. This will improve light penetration,
keeping the hedge healthy. If possible, trim both sides of the hedge.
•
The best trimming effect is achieved when holding the blade at an angle of approx. 15°.
•
The side of the hedge are trimmed using curved shaped movements from the bottom
and upwards. The blade should not be forced to cut too deep. Cut lightly through the
surface of the hedge.
