OPERATING THE INPUT CONTROLS
After switching on, if initialization is successfully completed (see the relevant details in the diagnostics
section), the system will switch the five output LEDs to red (output inactive) and the available input
channel LEDs will be off.
If the relevant button for an available input channel is pressed, the LED becomes green and starts
flashing, indicating the status of the channel as preselected. Pushing the button again switches
off the LED and cancels the preselection of the channel. When the required channels have been
preselected they can be activated by pressing the central button (on/off).
Channel preselection can be cancelled for an individual channel or globally using the reset button
in the central section, holding it down for at least 3 seconds.
OPERATING THE OUTPUT CONTROLS
To enable an output press the relevant button. The output channels are numbered from 1 to 5 and
refer respectively to the 5 languages assigned to the translator bus to which the codec unit is
connected.
Every output channel makes the audio for the language to which it is assigned available externally.
DIAGNOSTICS
When the unit is switched on, the diagnostics LED will be constant or flashing red, indicating the
transmission of CAN messages on the line while awaiting registration.
If the registration procedure is completed successfully, all the LEDs flash three times before passing
to display in operating mode.
If the diagnostics LED continues flashing after registration, this indicates failure of PLL synchronization
for the audio channels.
A brief series of flashes when the input channel preselection button is pressed indicates the
cancellation of the operation due to failure to communicate with the Main Unit.
