DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTROLS:
FRONT PANEL
The front panel is divided into 3 zones: left, central and right.
The
left-hand zone
contains the input controls (5 red LEDs, 5 potentiometers, 5 buttons and 5 two-
colour green/red LEDs.
The
right-hand zone
contains the output controls (5 potentiometers, 5 buttons and 5 two-colour green/
red LEDs).
The central zone contains the controls for the centralized management of the inputs (3 LEDs, two of
which are 2 two-colour green/red, and 2 buttons).
INPUT SECTION
Each input channel has a dedicated set of controls. The channels are numbered from 1 to 5 starting
from the left and refer respectively to the 5 languages assigned to the translator bus to which the
codec unit is connected. If, for example, an audio track has to be inserted on channel 4, the fourth
group of controls from the left must be used.
The five potentiometers regulate the gain on the input signals. The red LED alongside each
potentiometer indicates saturation of the input due to an excessively high signal. The input level
sensor, and its red LED indicator, is always active regardless of the status of the input channel, as
will be further discussed below.
The button below each potentiometer, and the LED alongside, are for the preselection of each single
input. The LED indicates the status of the input channel.
A constant red light indicates that the input has not been enabled by the Main Unit (possibly because
there is no translation language assigned to the relative slot).
If the LED is off, this indicates that the channel is available for activation.
A flashing green LED indicates that the channel has been preselected and can be activated.
A constant green LED indicates that the channel is active and the audio from the associated input
is entering the system.
