RCF S.p.A. would like to thank you for purchasing this product, which has been
designed to guarantee reliability and high performance.
GENERAL INTRODUCTION
The codec unit basically has two functions:
It makes it possible to substitute the audio of an interpreter, replacing it with an external audio
source
It makes it possible to access the audio translated from each of the 5 channels present on the codec
unit
The codec unit is capable of managing 5 input channels and 5 output channels. There are 5
balanced XLR (Mic) and 5 unbalanced RCA (Line) inputs. On each channel it is possible to access
exclusively the Mic or Line inputs.
As regards the output audio, there are 5 balanced XLR and 5 unbalanced RCA outputs.
CONNECTIONS
The codec unit must be connected to the interpreter consoles line in the same way as a console
(there are thus no particular constraints).
The only constraint is that there can be a maximum of one unit on each line dedicated to the
interpreter consoles.
The system can therefore include a maximum of two codec units.
Each codec unit operates, as In and Out, for the group of 5 languages assigned to that line.
