Here's what to try:
Rewind does not operate
Clock shows incorrect time or date
VCR makes noise when stopped
Will not auto-search channels active
channels correctly
Cannot add or remove channels
Cannot select channels over 69
Cassette with safety tab removed does not start to
play automatically
Segment of tape plays over and over
Stereo or SAP sound not recorded
No stereo sound during playback
Stereo audio too noisy
Timer recording not made
• Tape already rewound.
• Power interruption. Clock on the front panel will show
--:--

• Clock was not set accurately (check
AM/PM
and date).
• Time counter display appears in VCR’s display panel. Press
DISP
on
remote.
• VCR is removing tape from heads. This is normal. The head cylinder inside
the VCR will continue to rotate for a few minutes after you put the VCR in
the stop mode.
• Check antenna connections.
• Check
Signal Type: ANTENNA/CABLE/CABLE BOX
feature. See page 8.
• Channels must be placed in memory using
Auto-Search Channels
feature
before channels can be added or removed from channel memory. See page 10.
• Cable channels over 69 can only be selected if
Signal Type:
ANTENNA/CABLE/CABLE BOX
feature is set to
CABLE

• Set
Auto Play ON/OFF

ON.

• Check the clock to make sure the time is correct.
• Make sure safety tab is in place.
• If an RCA VCR recording and StarSight recording are scheduled at the same
time, only the StarSight recording will occur.
