1. Connect your camcorder to a
compatible VCR as shown.
2. Prepare the camcorder to play back
the tape you want to copy.
• Slide the POWER switch to the VCR
position.
• Press the EJECT button, and insert
the tape you want to copy.
• Press the PLAY button.
• Press the PAUSE button to place the
camcorder in the play-pause mode.
3. Prepare the VCR to record.
• Press POWER to turn on the VCR.
• Insert a blank tape into VCR.
• Press RECORD to put the VCR in the
record-pause mode.
Note: If the VCR begins to record
instead of pausing, you will need to
change the position of the compatibility
switch on the AVS80 cable. Stop the
VCR, change the switch, and then press
RECORD on the VCR again.
4. Press the REVIEW button on the
camcorder to start the camcorder
playing and also start the VCR
recording.
Note: Pressing the REVIEW button puts
the camcorder in the review mode for
several seconds and then into the playback
mode.
5. Pressing REW (rewind), F.FWD (fast
forward), STOP, or PAUSE on the
camcorder automatically puts the
VCR into the record-pause mode.
This allows you to search (forward or
backward), fast-forward or rewind the
tape in the camcorder without
disturbing the tape in the VCR.
• To search forward (or backward),
press and hold F.FWD (or REW).
When you release the button, the
camcorder will resume normal
playback. To begin copying again,
press the PAUSE button, and then
press the REVIEW button.
• To fast-forward or rewind the tape,
press STOP then F.FWD (or REW).
To begin copying again, press STOP,
then PLAY, then PAUSE to pause the
camcorder, and then press REVIEW
to begin copying.
6. If you want to stop copying the tape at
a certain point, turn on the
camcorder’s memory-stop feature, and
set the camcorder’s time counter to
“0:00:00M” at the point on the tape
where you want to stop copying.
When the camcorder reaches
“0:00:00M” on the tape, it will
automatically stop the VCR from
recording, and put the VCR in the
record-pause mode.
Note: The corresponding buttons on the
remote control can also be used to operate the
camcorder.
