Step 5:
Installation of the ESCs and the cable harness
As you can see in the picture, the ESCs are positioned
on the outside of the bridge walls. This position is very
important for the folding mechanism to work accurately.
If you don’t use a power distribution board, you need to
solder a cable harness. In doing this, make sure that
you don’t forget any necessary power supplies.
Depending on your use, you should include power
distribution for the following devices:
–
PMU V2 in combination with DJI Naza
–
Video transmitter
–
AlexMos Board
Step 6 (optional):
Mounting the RC installation kit
In case you ordered a RC installation kit, you
should mount it at this point of the assembly
process. With the installation kit, the wiring within
your Black Snapper will be a lot neater. The ESC
cables leading to the DJI Naza should be placed
under the RC installation kit. In the following step,
please use the included screws and nuts. First, fix
the screws through the frame from the bottom side
upwards and then (on the top side of the plate) put
a nut on the screw as a spacer. Now, the cables
can be placed neatly and you can thread them
through the wide hole in the RC installation kit
straight in front of the DJI Naza.
The installation kit rests on the nuts and is screwed
in place with additional nuts. The DJI Naza is
mounted directly on the installation kit with the
provided sticky pads.
The smaller one of both plates is needed if you
want to install multiple stories in the front part of
the frame, e.g. for the neat mounting of PMU and
GCU.
