Initial System Setup
and Testing
Initial System Setup
After all components of the system have been installed and the console has been programmed, the SCS 660 is
ready to be set up. Complete the following steps to set up the SCS 660 system.
1.
Completely empty the bin of product.
2.
Turn the boom switches OFF.
3.
Turn the RATE 1/RATE 2/MAN switch to MAN.
4.
Turn the POWER ON/OFF switch to ON.
5.
Verify that the BOOM CAL, SPEED CAL, METER CAL, VALVE CAL, and RATE CALs have been entered
correctly into the console.
6.
Press the SELF TEST button.
7.
Enter the machine’s normal operating speed.
8.
Turn the boom switches ON.
9.
Verify that each boom operates by toggling the boom switches between ON and OFF.
10.
Hold the INC/DEC switch in the INC position for approximately 12 seconds, noting the maximum rate value
in the display.
11.
Hold the INC/DEC switch in the DEC position for approximately 12 seconds, noting the minimum rate value
in the display.
12.
Verify that the target application rate is between the maximum and minimum values displayed.
Initial System Field Test
1.
Fill the bin with the product to be applied.
2.
Drive down the field at the target speed with the boom switches OFF to verify the SPEED readout in the
console.
3.
Turn on the appropriate boom switches.
4.
Switch the RATE 1/RATE 2/MAN switch to RATE 1.
5.
Increase or decrease the vehicle’s speed by one MPH [2 km/h].
Note:
The system should automatically adjust to the target application rate. If the system does not
perform the adjustment, repeat the steps in Initial System Setup. If the system is still not
