Appendix C: Powering On and Changing Your
PCCI Configuration
Use this section to assist in a number of practical setup scenarios, including powering on a PCCI
setup that has been turned off, and changing or placing PCCI components.
Recommended PCCI Power Up Sequence
When powering on a PCCI setup that has been off, Raritan recommends turning each device on in
the following order:
1.
If you have any 3
rd
Tier Paragon switches, power on all 3
rd
Tier Paragon switches first.
2.
After all 3
rd
Tier Paragon switches have powered on, power on all 2
nd
Tier Paragon switches.
3.
After all upper tiered Paragon switches have been powered on, power on all Base Tier
Paragon switches.
4.
Power on all UST1s, IP-Reach units and USTIP units.
5.
Power on any Paragon II System Controllers you have.
6.
Power on CommandCenter Secure Gateway, if it is not already running.
In short, the general sequence of power up occurs from the highest tier Paragon switches down
through CC-SG.
Power Cycling A PCCI Setup
If there is a need to cycle power to part or all of a PCCI setup, Raritan recommends turning off
power to all components, then powering them on, one stage at a time, in the order described
above. Components can be powered off in any order.
Note: This only applies to turning off and turning on the power to a PCCI setup without and
physical configuration changes.
