Access : "Options"
The R&S QAR50 provides a set of tools to configure the measurement.
Selecting the device properties
The device properties select the characteristics of the test setup.
For details about the different test setups, see Chapter 6, "Test setup" , on page 30.
Always make sure that the "Device Properties" are set correctly. Otherwise, measure-
ment results can be invalid.
1. Select "Options" > "Settings".
2. Select the position of the R&S QAR50 from the "Shape Setup" menu.
● "U" corresponds to the lying position.
● "C" corresponds to the upright position.
For details about installing the R&S QAR50 in the different positions, see Chap-
ter 4.3, "Installing the R&S QAR50" , on page 14.
Defining the size and position of the evaluation window
The evaluation window is the part of the millimeter wave image that the R&S QAR50
uses to calculate the numerical results .
In the millimeter wave image itself, the evaluation window is indicated by a blue rectan-
gle.
1. Select "Options" > "Settings".
2. Define the "Window Size".
The window is a rectangle whose size is defined by the lengths of its sides in x-
and y-direction. The maximum size of the evaluation window is 100
mm x 100 mm.
The center of the evaluation window is always in the center of the millimeter wave
image.
Always define a evaluation window whose size is smaller than the DUT.
