of MC/S is very similar to MPIO.
Chapter 6 Applications
Because RAIDON iSCSI series products have twin Gigabit channel design, their range of application is
wider. Below are some examples:
6.1 Resource sharing
See RAIDON iSCSI series products as one of the members in the network; establish a LAN and when
all the PCs in the network is installed with an initiator, then the RAIDON iSCSI series products can be
used as local hard disks.
The benefits of connecting this way is all the PCs see RAIDON iSCSI series products as its own hard
disks and so you can install authorized software to RAIDON iSCSI series products and then share with
other PCs, which is convenient, safe, and helps to reduce software cost!
Note: In the same LAN, the hardware configuration for the PCs sharing RAIDON iSCSI series products must be
the same and have to install initiators. When two or more PC is trying to save the same file, file errors can
occur easily. It is recommended that the proper permission is given.
6.2 Easy storage expansion (SLX650-4S-L4D only)
RAIDON iSCSI series products is equipped with the ability to infiniBand interface externally, when your
storage capacity isn't enough, you can connect a JBOD system with 4 bays, and instantly upgrade to
storage RAID system with 8 bays. Hence, it is easy to expand capacity at any time.
Hint: because RAIDON iSCSI series products are built on the internet, hence the amount of expansion is
dependent on the available IP's in your LAN.
6.3 Off-site access
Because RAIDON iSCSI series product is built on networks, therefore it has the same advantage of
a network, which is not restricted by locations. Configure the proper IP addresses and permissions
and you can connect to RAIDON iSCSI series product anywhere in the world for data access or
configurations.
