or wait for the timeout. The recording will be played back before the Record Note Options
screen appears.
When the note is complete an Options Screen appears and the user
can:
PLAY NOTE
= replay the note to be sure all is OK
RECORD NOTE
– make a new recording
STORE NOTE
– log the note into memory where it can be
retrieved later (integrated with the data)
DISCARD NOTE
– cancel the note
Click on
Store note
when complete. You will not be given any prompt telling you that a note was saved
or given an ID.
Repeat the procedure as often as you like. Multiple notes can be taken per survey.
You will not see any indication of a note when the data is read from the device into RSAnalyst. When the
survey data is exported all the audio notes will be exported along with it.
3.3.2 Pause
This command “freezes” the instrument
TEMPORARILY
and is used to
REVIEW data.
In this
PAUSE
Mode
– the user can use the
ARROW
keys go back into
the previously recorded data to review data. Note that current data is
buffered during this
PAUSE
for review process. Press
OK
and scroll to
RESUME
, it then
runs the data display to the
CURRENT
data buffered in
memory
so no data is lost during the review process.
3.3.3 Reacquire BG
The local Radioactive Background (BG) is used to set the SURVEY
audio Threshold. This BG level is stored in the unit when it is powered
ON.
Inside the unit various settings select the best BG usage. Typically the
setting selected means the BG reference level is being continually
updated to utilize the best levels.
The reason this is important is only for AUDIO surveying because as
noted above the local BG is used to select the threshold level that the
audio SURVEY tool uses to enable its audio.
A key problem here is best explained with an example, using the figure below. The example shows a
FIELD condition. In this example for simplicity the device is being used to locate radioactive material in
three AREAS of Interest:
