Initializing the Storage Arrays and Software
The DXi6902 is not operational until you add the storage arrays to the system and
initialize them, and initialize the software, using the Pick to Order (PTO) configuration
tools on the
Service Menu
.
To initialize the storage arrays and software, use the following procedures:

To access the
Service Menu
using the service port:

Power on the DXi6902 system components in the following order:
a
Turn on both power switches on the back of each Expansion module (EBOD) (see
). Wait until the seven segment display on the rear of the module
displays

(approximately 1 minute).
b
Turn on both power switches on the back of each Array module (RBOD) (see
). Wait until the seven segment display on the rear of the module
displays

(approximately 3 minutes).
c
Press the power button on the front of the Node (see
). Wait for the
system to boot before continuing with the procedure. (This can take up to 10
minutes.)
Caution:
After powering on the system, do
not
remove any hard drives. If you
accidentally remove a drive, wait 30 seconds before reinserting the
drive.
