Entering the Printer Node Name and Address

Use either the Phase V or Phase IV instructions that follow, depend-
ing on your site.

Phase V Only:

Successful installation of this product under

DECnet-OSI (Phase V) requires that you have

already defined a node name and address to be

used with the printer you are installing. (The

Installation Verification Procedure will fail

otherwise.) You will be asked for the node name

later in this installation procedure.

If you have not already done so, you should make

sure that the DECnet address entered at the

printer control panel matches the address for

the printer's node name as defined on the host.

Consult your printer user's manual for

information on setting control panel options.

The printer address has been set [YES]?

The program next prompts you for the printer node name:

* Enter a node name for the QMS printer:

Enter the node name of the QMS printer you’re updating.

Note:

Be careful not to end the node name with a single colon (:).

Otherwise, the symbiont will assume a port connection.

Once you’ve specified a node name, the program asks you to verify
your selection:

* Accept name

node_name

Press Enter if the displayed

node_name

is correct. If you want to

change it, type
