Disabling a Printer Interface

Each interface on the printer is active at all times. If you want to deac-
tivate any interfaces that you do not use (preventing access to the 
printer from those interfaces), you may do so from the printer control 
panel.

If the printer is on line, press the Online/Offline key. Press 
the Menu key to open the printer Configuration menu.

Press the Next key until the message window displays 

ADMINISTRATION

 and press the Select key.

Press the Next key until the message window displays 

COM-

MUNICATIONS

 and press the Select key.

Press the Next key until the message window displays the 
interface you want to disable and press the Select key.

Press the Next key until the message window displays 

MODE

 

and press the Select key.

Press the Next key until the message window displays 

DIS-

ABLED

 and press Select.

7

Press the Online/Offline key.

8

Cycle the printer off and back on.

Repeat these steps for each interface you want to disable.

Dataproducts Printing

When using the Dataproducts option, set the Administration/Commu-
nications/Parallel/Data Bits menu to 7 Bits. If it is set to 8 Bits, your 
data will not print correctly.
