to all your electronic security requirements.
Please take the time to read and familiarize yourself with the terms used throughout this manual.
Arm or Arm away
-
The entire system or a partition is completely armed and secured.
Arm home 1 or 2
-
Two home modes are available. This allows for the system to be armed with certain
zones being omitted that have been decided on by you, thus allowing free
movement within the premises while the perimeter is armed. Normal entry
procedures do apply.
Arm home instant
-
As above except that all entry and exit points are now instant.
Armed cycle
-
The period for which the alarm system or partition is armed.
Auto arm -
The system will automatically arm at pre-programmed times of the day, each day if
the system is disarmed. The system will not auto-disarm. Auto arm timers are user
enabled and selected.
Bypass
-
A zone or zones are temporarily removed from the system or partition for one
armed cycle. When the system or partition is disarmed, all bypassing is
automatically removed.
Chime
-
A keypad buzzer annunciation for 1 second when a zone is violated in the disarmed
condition.
Control code
-
A user authority level that will only switch an output, used for access control,
light switching, etc. This code is recorded in the historic log.
Control panel
-
The metal housing and electronics to which all peripheral equipment is connected.
Delay -
A timer function incorporated with entry or exit procedures. A delay of the siren only
for a period of 30 seconds, if selected when home armed.
Detector -
A device used to detect unauthorized activity in an area.
Disarm -
The period when the system or partition is switched off. Does not include panic,
fire, medical, etc.
Dual end of line -
Typical wiring to include a tamper and alarm condition on the same pair of
wires, using 2 x end of line resistors (see diagram on page 7).
Entry / exit
-
Refers to the dedicated route required to be followed when entering or exiting the
premises. These are timed features. The system has independent primary and
secondary entry timers and a global exit timer.
Faulted
-
A zone or input is open or activated.
Fire -
A 24-hour active input to alarm on the activation of a fire detector. The siren output
will also be pulsed instead of constant.
Historic log -
The control panel stores the last 255 events and conditions in a non-volatile,
non-erasable memory.
Home -
The system or partition is armed with certain zones being omitted that have been
decided on by you and the installer, to allow free movement within the premises
while the perimeter is armed. Normal entry procedures do apply.
Input
-
A terminal on the control panel that a detector is connected to, for alarm purposes.
