If you wish to use the audio outputs from the matrix, please connect cables to the relevant output There are
8 output zones, where each zone features Analogue (stereo), Optical and Digital Coax options that can work
simultaneously
There are two audio modes of operation: Source Mode and Sink Mode
By default, when you first install the matrix, the unit is set to Sink Mode in passive.
IMPORTANT : The matrix needs to be set to Sink mode or Source mode according to the installation’s
requirement, and wired accordingly Please ensure that you set up the matrix to the correct audio mode in
the Audio Control tab of the WebUI
Connecting The Audio Outputs
Sink Mode is the preferred method when setting up the neo:XMR Binary in an installation that does not have
a dedicated audio matrix switch
Sink mode allows for audio routing from any input to any of the audio output zones, which by default is
intended to match the video routing
There are two sub-modes of operation for each output zone:
• Passive mode is a fixed line-level output. It is recommended when connecting to an amplifier with its own
volume control and other DSP functionality Passive mode does not support HDMI-ARC
• Active mode will activate the following features for that output zone:
• Volume control of the stereo outputs
• Audio delay of the stereo outputs
• ARC (HDMI) When feature is enabled, the matrix will automatically manage when audio is coming
directly from the TV, over the HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC), and output over the respective audio
zone output
This sub-mode is recommended when connected to an audio amplifier without independent volume control.
Source Mode is generally used in larger installations where the input audio is being fed directly to one or more
dedicated audio matrices (eg ProAudio switch)
In this mode, the audio outputs zones A to F are locked to HDMI inputs 1 to 6 respectively, and with audio
output zones G and H linked to audio inputs 7 and 8
Digital audio inputs 9 and 10 are not operational in Source mode
