The PTG screw-on connectors can be
attached without deflating the tires. When
done skilfully, the connectors can be screwed
on under pressure without losing much, if
any, air in the tires.
1. Clean the outside thread of the tire
valve with a wire brush.
Slide the fastening loop of the protection
cap all the way over the valve.
2. Use multigrip pliers where necessary
to loosen the valve core and screw out of
the valve.
3. Press the screw-on connector with your
thumb onto the tire valve and centre, and
screw it on with your other hand. Tighten
with a wrench SW 16 (6 +/- 1 Nm). The tire
valve is closed by the sealing ring in the
screw-on connector.
III. Fitting the PTG screw-on connectors fittings to the tire valves
8 English
For safety reasons, the wheel should be
propped up.
NOTE
The valve core is under pressure and must
be held firmly.
!
CAUTION
You must be able to screw the connectors
on by hand; if you feel any resistance,
unscrew slightly and reattach; never use
force to try and screw on the connector, as
this may damage the valve thread. If the
connector is screwed on too tight with the
wrench, the valve shaft may tear!
