Solution 4: This error will appear if the RangeLAN2 PC Card is
not working properly but the RangeLAN2 Utilities have been
successfully installed. Most likely, this is due either to an error
during installation or to a resource conflict. Refer to Solution 3
for more information about this.
Windows NT 4.0 Installation Problems
Chapter 3 describes how to install the RangeLAN2 driver in a
computer running Windows NT 4.0. This section provides some
suggestions to resolve many of the common installation problems
with the RangeLAN2 7420 PC Card.
Problem 1: After installing the driver and restarting the computer,
the RangeLAN2 PC Card’s Device Status in the PC Card icon
reports “The driver installed but did not start,” or “The driver did
not start.”
Solution 1: The RangeLAN2 driver is not properly installed or
configured. Most likely, the PC Card has a resource conflict and
is trying to use an IRQ Level, I/O Base Address, or Memory
Range that is either already in use or not available for use by the
card. To resolve the conflict, open the Windows NT Diagnostics
utility in the Administrative Tools section of the Start Menu and
click the Resources tab to view the resources currently in use by
the computer, as shown below.
