Chapter 7 Installing Internal Options

Install the CPU.

1. Align the pin 1 marking (small triangle) on the CPU socket with the triangle on the

CPU, and insert the CPU cautiously on the socket.

2. Return the socket lever to fasten the CPU.

When installing the CPU in the socket, be careful not to bend CPU pins.

Install the heat sink.

Carefully tighten the heat sink screws in diagonal order.

Attach the top cover.

Install the server blade to the chassis.

Turn on the server blade and check the BIOS Setup Utility settings.

Start the BIOS Setup Utility and select the [Advanced] menu - the [Server] submenu to check

that [CPU n Status] (n: slot number) is set to [Enabled]. If the item is set to [Disabled], change the

setting to [Enabled]. For more details, refer to "8.2.10 Server Submenu" (

pg.209).
