PROBLEM
Burner will not ignite
using knobs or igniter.
Burner will not ignite
using a match.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Wires and/or electrode
covered with cooking
residue.
Electrode and burners
are wet.
Electrode cracked or
broken – sparks at crack.
Wire loose or
disconnected.
No gas flow.
Obstruction of gas flow.
Disengagement of burner
to valve.
Spider webs or insect
nest in venturi.
Burner ports clogged
or blocked.
SOLUTION
Clean wire and/or electrode
with rubbing alcohol.
Wipe dry with cloth.
Replace electrode.
Reconnect wire or replace
electrode/wire assembly.
Check if natural gas
supply is functioning. If it
is not, call your local gas
company. If natural gas
supply is functioning, refer
to the “Excess flow safety
valve reset” procedure on
page 34.
Clear burner tubes. Check
for bent or kinked hose.
Re-engage burner and valve.
Clean venturi.
Clean burner ports.
