4.3.5 Data Handling
Data can be logged in ASCII code:
In the head of the ASCII file you find a report, containing channel number as well as some
system settings.
Each measurement point is delivered in one line, together with date, time, elapsed time, raw
values, temperature and eError code.
The data can be processed with any text editor. The use of Microsoft® Excel® is possible by
importing the file. Please choose semicolon as delimiter.
5 Mounting
sensors
5.1 Mounting planar sensor spots
1. Remove the pH-sensitive spot carefully from the protective cover.
2. Glue sensor spots into the desired transparent vessel.
Place approximately 0.5 µl of silicon glue (SG1 , Presens Article Nr.: 200000282) on the
shiny side of the sensor spot. Place the sensor spot on the inner wall of the vessel.
Ensure that no glue is on the matt finished side of the spot. Allow the glue about 12 h for
curing under ambient temperature. The glue needs humidity to cure – please do not
place the vessel in a dry atmosphere. Ensure proper ventilation: if the sensor spot is
glued to the bottom of a vessel, turn the vessel around for curing. Minimize the exposure
to light during the mounting process. Ensure that the sensor is protected from light when
not used.
3. Remove the protective cap from the male fiber plugs of the delivered fiber cable and
connect it to the SMA-plugs of the pH-10 mini device. The safety nut must be carefully
attached while turning slightly clockwise.
5. Fix the other end of the fiber to the outer wall of your vessel, facing the sensor spot on
the inner side of the vessel. This can be done by an adapter from Presens (SOA,
Presens Article Nr. 200000245 for planar devices or ARC-1 SMA, Presens Article Nr.:
200000246 for round vessels, CFG-L1.5 Presens Article Nr.: 200000248 for Spots
mounted at the bottom) or by a custom made fixture.
5.2 Mounting flow through cells
1. Remove the pH-sensitive flow through cell from the protective cover.
2.
Remove the protective cap from the male fiber plugs of the delivered special optical fiber
(POF-L2.5-1SMA-FTC-MH, Presens Article Nr. 200000411) and connect it to the SMA-
