WEIGHT: Acceptable entries range from 1 through 999 (pounds or kilograms). Change
the blinking number using the

 and

keys or accept the displayed number (and

continue in Setup mode) by pressing SELECT.

Important: Enter a number that reflects your actual weight since the calorie count
and several other calculations are based on the weight entry.

AGE: Acceptable entries range from 1 to 99. Change the blinking number using the

 and

keys or accept the displayed number (and continue in Setup mode) by

pressing SELECT.

Important: An age entry is required if you want to use the heart rate interactive
capabilities of the EFX.

Electronic Display

The Precor banner, setup prompts, course profiles and feature selections appear on
the display. Prior to working out, prompts guide you through the Setup mode. Refer
to

Setup Mode and Prompts on page 30.

Once you begin a workout, indicator lights appear next to the display features
(examples:  PROFILE or TIME). You can change what appears on the display by
pressing the SELECT key. Refer to

Changing the Display Features Using the

SELECT Key on page 34.

The following describes the information that can appear in the display.

PROFILE: At the beginning of a course, the profile appears on the display and corre-
sponds to the course that you selected. As you proceed through your workout, your
position in the course is indicated by a blinking column. The height of the column indicates
the level of ramp incline. Every time the ramp incline changes by several sequential
levels (up or down) the height of the column changes by one cell.

Note: In the Heart Rate Course (HRC), it is the resistance settings that affect the
height of the blinking column. Refer to

Heart Rate Course on page 41.

TIME: During your workout, a time (0:00) display appears when you begin working
out. Time appears in minutes and seconds. However, should you exceed 60 minutes
(during a single workout), the TIME display converts to hours and minutes.  Most
often, the TIME display shows the amount of time remaining in your workout.

STRIDES: Shows the total number of strides completed. The number will always be
even since two strides create one complete revolution of the flywheel. A stride is an
exaggerated walking movement. On the EFX, if you start in a position with one foot
forward and one foot back, a stride is completed when you move the rear foot all the
way forward while the forward foot moves to the rear.

STRIDES PER MINUTE: Displays your current pedaling speed. Note that when the
strides per minute drops below 20, the EFX reverts to Pause mode. (Refer to page 27.)

Important: The display may not change as quickly as your stride. For example, when
you stop suddenly from a high stride rate, the display does not immediately change
to zero. Instead, it gradually decreases until it reaches zero.

CALORIES: Provides an estimate of the cumulative number of calories burned. The
calorie calculation is derived from the pedaling speed, resistance level, and your
weight. An accurate weight entry results in a more accurate calorie count.

Heart Rate: The indicator lights when your heart rate appears on the display. Note
that the heart rate receiver is a separate purchase item. Ask your dealer about the
Precor Heart Rate Option. Refer to

Obtaining Service on page 9.

SCAN: The LED lights when the EFX display is in scan mode. Scanning occurs
automatically if more than one display feature is selected. Refer to

Changing the

Display Features Using the SELECT Key on page 34.
