Spark Plug Maintenance
The spark plug is an important engine component
and should be checked periodically.
1. (A) Remove the screws (1) and then remove the
cover (2).
2. (B) Remove the spark plug cap (3) and access cap
(4).
3. (C) Insert the tool (5) through the hole in the out-
side of the cover.
4. (C) Insert the handlebar (6) into the tool (5) and
turn it counter clockwise to remove the spark plug.
5. Check for discoloration. The porcelain insulator
around the centre electrode of spark plug should
be a Medium-to-light tan colour.
6. Check the spark plug type and gap. The spark
plug gap should be measured with a wire thick-
ness gauge and, if necessary, adjusted to specifi-
cation.
7. Install spark plug, spark plug cap, cover and
screws.
Spark Plug Type:
TORCH-A5RTC
Spark Plug Gap: 0.6-0.7 mm (0.024-0.028 in)
Spark Plug Torque: 12.5 N·m (1.25kgf·m, 9Ibf·ft)
Carburetor Adjustment
The carburetor is a vital part of the engine. Adjusting
should be left to an Authorized Powertec Service Pro-
vider who has the professional knowledge, special-
ized data, and equipment to do so properly.
