NOTE: press ENT key enter the option to send cancel DISTR call
In this process, you must press PTT to send the voice for the reason of the
cancellation. And press any key will no function except press PTT
Note: while the radio at sending distress automated procedure, all other DSC
messages shall be ignored and only recorded in the log. and After a sending
distress automated procedure the equipment should not automatically start dis -
playing any new unread DSC messages from memory according the call priority.
5.4.2 Receiving distress auto procedure
5.4.2.1 Receiving a distress calls
Radio receives distress messages sent by another vessel and/or acknowledg -
ments (ACk) sent by a coast station to another vessel in distress. In such
cases you should maintain a listening watch on channel 16 and standby to
lend assistance. There is no automatically reply/relay to distress or ACk or
relay DSC calls.
5.4.2.2 Receiving a distress AcK sent from a coast station
When a DISTRESS ACk is received from a Coast Station (Coast Guard or
Search & Rescue), an alarm sounds and the following screen appears in the
display. Maintain a listening watch on CH16 and standby to lend assistance.
