SEQUENTIAL TRIP SAFETY OPERATION

The model 475

fl

ooring stapler operates on a sequen

ti

 al trip system. The sequen

ti

 al

trip system requires the operator to hold the tool against the work before pulling
the trigger. This makes accurate fastener placement easier. The sequen

ti

 al  trip

allows exact fastener loca

ti

on without the possibility of driving a second fastener on

recoil. The sequen

ti

al trip system has a posi

ti

ve safety advantage because it will not

accidentally drive a fastener if the tool is contacted against the work – or anything
else – while the operator is holding the trigger pulled.

TOOL OPERATION CHECK:

CAUTION: Remove all fasteners from tool before performing tool opera

ti

 on check.

SEQUENTIAL TRIP OPERATION:

A.

Press the contact trip against the work surface, without touching the trigger.

THE TOOL MUST NOT CYCLE.

B.

Hold the tool o

the work surface and pull the trigger.

THE TOOL MUST NOT CYCLE.

Release the trigger. The trigger must return to the trigger stop on the frame.

C.

Pull the trigger and press the contact trip against the work surface.

THE TOOL MUST NOT CYCLE.

D.

With

fi

 nger o

the trigger, press the contact trip against the work surface. Pull

the trigger.

THE TOOL MUST CYCLE.

TOOL AIR FITTING:

This tool uses a free-

fl

ow connector plug, 1/4 NPT. The inside diameter should be

.200” (5mm) or larger. The

fi

tti

ng must be capable of discharging tool air pressure

when disconnected from the air supply.

OPERATING PRESSURE:

70 to 100 PSI

G

. (4.8 to 7.0 kg/cm2). Select the opera

ti

 ng pressure within this range

for best fastener performance.

DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMMENDED OPERATING

PRESSURE.

AIR CONSUMPTION:

The model 475 requires 3.1 cubic feet per minute (.09 cubic meters) of free air to
operate at the rate of 100 fasteners per minute, at 80 PSI (5.6 kg/cm

2

). Take the

actual rate at which the tool will be run to determine the amount of air required. For
instance, if your fastener usage averages 50 fasteners per minute, you need 50% of
the tool’s C.F.M. which is required to operate the tool at 100 fasteners per minute.

SEQUENTIAL TRIP OPERATION:

The model 475

fl

ooring stapler operates on a sequen

ti

 al trip system. The sequen

ti

 al

trip system requires the operator to hold the tool against the work before pulling
the trigger. This makes accurate fastener placement easier. The Sequen

ti

 al  Trip

allows exact fastener loca

ti

on without the possibility of driving a second fastener on

recoil. The Sequen

ti

al Trip system has a posi

ti

ve safety advantage because it will not

accidentally drive a fastener if the tool is contacted against the work – or anything
else – while the operator is holding the trigger pulled.

LUBRICATION

Apply one or two drops of Air Tool Lubricant, Mobil Velocite #10, or equivalent prior
to each use. Use more or less frequently depending on usage and duty cycle
