The nozzle is positioned at a recommended strategic height of 1.2m to 1.4m from the ground to avoid
obstructions by most domestic furniture while still placing mist close to the base of the fire, maximizing
the effectiveness of the very small water flow.
Automist Smartscan Compliance and Fire Performance
Automist was independently tested by Exova Warringtonfire during the summer of 2015 and was able to
demonstrate full compliance with the fire performance criteria of the BS 8458:2015. In short, Automist is
performance compliant with BS 8458:2015 despite not being fully prescriptively compliant, which is the
essence of innovations: a smarter approach to reach the same end goal: suppression performance. UKAS
Accredited Certification Body, BSI have also issued a certificate of verification to BS 8458:2015 (VC 656504).
