Follow steps for internal drive, but replace step #2 with the following:
2) Move #5 DIP switch
to ‘‘ON’’ position.
CAUTION: DO NOT install jumper in vertical position connecting rightmost top and
bottom pin. DO NOT use lengthwise jumper installation on any pins
except bottom two pins on right when facing rear of drive.
SCSI ID Number
It is possible to chain (using a daisy chain cable) up to seven SCSI peripherals to a
single SCSI interface board, or to the SCSI port of an Apple computer. However, when
using multiple SCSI peripherals, it is necessary to set each peripheral to a unique SCSI
ID number.
Your PlexWriter drive can be set to use one of eight SCSI ID numbers. The drive should
arrive with its SCSI ID set to 4. Accordingly, if you already use another SCSI peripheral
and its SCSI ID also is set to 4, you must change the SCSI ID number of your PlexWriter
4/12 or the other peripheral.
