Troubleshooting
Please consult the following troubleshooting information if you have
encountered a problem during installation or operation of this product.
●
The HDD case does not work properly: in Device Manager, I can see a
"!" symbol right next to the driver

Please verify that the supplied AC power adapter is attached to the HDD
case. The power adapter is required whenever the HDD case is used with
other USB devices. Disconnect the AC power adapter and reattach it to
the HDD case. I have connected the HDD case to a USB hub via a USB
cable, but the PC cannot find the HDD case
→
Directly connect the HDD case to your PC (instead of the USB hub) and
see if the PC can detect the HDD case. If it can, the USB hub may not be
working properly.

I canceled the installation procedure once, and the system no longer
recognizes the HDD case.
→
Select/ double click [Control Panel] -> [System] -> [Device Manager] and
see whether there is a "USB to IDE Adapter" item with a "!" sign under
the "Other Devices" and "Universal Serial Bus Controller" categories. If
°flthe item exists, delete it and remove the USB cable from the USB port.
Now, reattach the cable to the same port.
● The PC does not detect the drive even though I have already installed the
driver.

If you are using a newly purchased HDD, a DOS partition needs to be
created in the drive and it needs to be formatted as well. Refer to Chapter
5 and complete these tasks.

12. Select the "Format" option from the menu. Now, check the "Format"
option and click on the "Start" button to format the HDD (see below).
This operation will delete all the data in the HDD.
13. After the formatting process has completed, the HDD is ready for use
