words, more bandwidth is consumed than in the case of narrowband transmission, but
the trade off produces a signal that is, in effect, louder and thus easier to detect,
provided that the receiver knows the parameters of the spread-spectrum signal being
broadcast. If a receiver is not tuned to the right frequency, a spread

spectrum signal
looks like background noise. There are two main alternatives, Direct Sequence Spread
Spectrum (DSSS) and Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS).

How does WL-3560 reach the high data rate, 108Mbps?
WL-3560 is using Atheros AR5002G chipset which enhanced with Super G mode.
There are three technologies used in Super G mode. First is called
Packet Bursting
,
which puts more data in one single transmission. Second technology is called
Compression.
The AR5002G chipset employs a special engine to compress and
encrypt data. The last technology is
Combine Channel,
which combines two radio
channels simultaneously for one connection. Through the above three technologies,
Super G mode can provide up to 108Mbps data rate, but the available channels will be
reduced to 6 only.
